About
What is Osteopathy?
Osteopathy is an Allied Health profession that incorporates a holistic approach to manual “hands on” therapy. It is based on theories that a disturbance to one system of the human body has effects on the other systems within the body. It also theorises that the body has the ability to self-heal under the right conditions. As Osteopaths, we use the whole body and multi system approach through multiple techniques to assist the body and encourage its self-healing mechanisms. Osteopaths are trained to assess, examine and diagnose patients, treat and/or refer as required and provide rehabilitation to prevent re-injury. The aim of an osteopathic treatment is to not only treat the symptoms but to understand and identify the cause and base treatment off how we can prevent this from occurring again.

What is pilates?
Pilates provides a whole-body workout, focusing on balance, strength and mobility. It promotes spinal health, lengthens and strengthens muscle, and enhances functional movement in day-to-day life.
If you’re new to group Reformer Pilates, you should start with at least four Foundation classes. If you want individualised attention, perhaps due to injury, age or confidence, you might choose to do a few Clinical Pilates sessions first.
Foundation Reformer
Get to know the Reformer machine while learning Pilates principles and sequencing. Working at a slower, more controlled pace, with plenty of guidance, these classes are designed to inspire confidence before joining any class. | 45 minutes
Open Reformer
Building on from the foundational principles, this class will challenge you with a greater variety of the exercise repertoire. Classes make use of jump boards, hand weights, BOSU balls, fitness circles and body-weight exercises. Options are offered for all abilities and levels of expertise. | 45 minutes
Silver Foxes
(65 Years Plus)
Pilates is an excellent form of exercise for seniors, as it strengthens muscle and improves balance, coordination and movement. This class challenges both body and mind. You’ll quickly notice beneficial changes and have a laugh along the way. | 45 minutes
Clinical Pilates
Clinical Pilates is a form of Pilates tailored to individual needs. It is ideal for rehabilitation and injury prevention, or for athletes working towards specific goals or events, and is suitable for all ages and abilities. The NDIS supports a Pilates program and can be incorporated into most packages.

Following are some conditions we commonly work with:

Do I need a referral?
Short answer is No, you do not need a referral. However, if you qualify for a Chronic Disease Management Plan (CDMP) or you have a Department of Veterans Affairs Gold or White card, you will require a referral from your GP.
What should I expect from my first visit?
Your initial osteopathic consultation will take approximately 45 mins, or 60 mins for a Pelvic Health initial consultation. In this time, we will complete a thorough history of your presenting complaint as well as a full medical history including any current medications you are taking. We will then perform an examination including active, passive and assisted movements, hands on palpation and any specific orthopaedic tests we think are relevant to your complaint. We use these to form a working diagnosis. We will explain to you what is going on and give you a treatment plan. Treatment will be catered specifically to you and your diagnosis. You may be asked to remove some items of clothing for the examination and treatment depending on the area of the body we are working on.
How do you become an Osteopath?
To become an Osteopath, we have undertaken a minimum of 5-year degree at university. Once completed this degree we must be registered with Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA). To maintain our registration, we are required to undertake compulsory Continuous Professional Development (CPD) yearly.
